జగిత్యాల జిల్లా వెల్గటూర్ పోలీస్ స్టేషన్ పరిధిలోని పైడిపల్లి గ్రామంలో గ్రామపంచాయతీ ఎన్నికల సందర్భంగా ఉద్రిక్త పరిస్థితులు నెలకొన్నాయి. 17-12-2025న జరిగిన ఎన్నికల ఓట్ల లెక్కింపు పూర్తైన అనంతరం, ఓటమి పాలైన ఓ అభ్యర్థి తన అనుచరులు, కొందరు గ్రామస్తులతో కలిసి పోలింగ్ స్టేషన్ వద్ద ఆందోళనకు దిగారు. పోలింగ్ సిబ్బంది విధులకు ఆటంకం కలిగిస్తూ బ్యాలెట్ బాక్సులను తరలించకుండా అడ్డుకున్న నిరసనకారులు, పోలింగ్ కేంద్రం ఎదుట బైఠాయించి నిరసన కొనసాగించారు. పరిస్థితిని శాంతియుతంగా పరిష్కరించేందుకు పోలీసులు సుమారు రెండు గంటల పాటు నచ్చజెప్పినా వారు వినకుండా ప్రతిఘటించారు.  

Hyderabad: A senior professor at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad, has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman working as a guest faculty member at the university. The incident, which reportedly occurred several months ago, came to light after the victim filed a formal complaint with the police. According to police officials, the accused professor developed acquaintance with the woman soon after she joined the university. Belonging to the same social community, he allegedly gained her trust by presenting himself as a mentor-like figure who wished to support her professionally. However, within a short period, the professor’s behavior reportedly changed. The victim stated that he began making inappropriate advances and threatened to jeopardize her job if she did not comply. She also alleged that he warned her against informing her husband, saying it would ruin her family life.

Shankarpalli, Telangana: The International Conference titled “Stree 5.0: Power, Progress, Possibilities — Redefining Womanhood in a Changing World” commenced with grandeur at the IFHE campus on Saturday. The two-day event is jointly organized by the IFHE Center for Women Development and the University of Hyderabad’s Centre for Women’s Studies, bringing together experts from India and abroad to deliberate on evolving dimensions of women’s empowerment. The conference was formally inaugurated with a ceremonial lamp-lighting by Sobha Rani Yasaswy, Chairperson of the ICFAI Society.
