Messi, who arrived in Hyderabad along with football stars Rodrigo De Paul (Argentina) and Luis Suárez (Uruguay), acknowledged fans from the moment he entered the stadium, energising the packed galleries. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi watched the match from the stands as a special guest.

After the Chief Minister’s goal, Messi stepped onto the field to a thunderous reception, with chants of “Messi… Messi” echoing across the stadium. He spent time interacting with young footballers, shaking hands, posing for photos, and later playfully passing and kicking footballs to children and spectators across all sections of the stadium.

Messi, De Paul and Suárez moved around the venue, engaging with fans and young players, creating an electric atmosphere. Footballs were kicked into the stands as souvenirs, further delighting the crowd.

Marking his return to India after 14 years, Messi expressed happiness over the warm welcome and overwhelming support from Indian fans. The Hyderabad visit concluded successfully amid vibrant celebrations and emotional scenes.

At the closing ceremony, Messi posed for group photographs with children’s teams and presented the prestigious #GOAT Cup to the Singareni RR-9 team, while the Aparna All Stars received the runner-up trophy. Messi also personally presented Argentina’s iconic No.10 jersey to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Rahul Gandhi.

The event began with a grand music concert and laser show. Popular singer Rahul Sipligunj performed “Naatu Naatu,” while singer Mangli energized the crowd with her songs. A special composition by Pratap Rana was dedicated to Lionel Messi.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy welcomed Messi and his team, highlighting Telangana’s growing global profile with the message, “Telangana is rising — come join the rise.” The event concluded with Messi and his teammates waving to fans, bringing an unforgettable football celebration in Hyderabad to a close.
