Most of these professionals reside in various GHMC and municipal zones and work across three shifts, 24x7, 365 days a year. As a result, mornings and evenings turn into gridlock hours, with thousands of vehicles — company cabs, private cars, and public transport — crowding the main routes simultaneously.

Key traffic choke points include JNTU, KPHB, Kukatpally, Balanagar, Kaithalapur, Forum Mall, Bachupally, Nizampet, Miyapur, Pragathi Nagar, Gajularamaram, Hitec X Roads, Kondapur, Gachibowli, Mindspace, Raheja IT Park, IKEA, Inorbit, Hitec City, and Serilingampally. Vehicles crawl at snail’s pace, often stalling due to overheating, leaving frustrated commuters stranded for hours.

Adding to the misery are pothole-ridden and narrow roads, which make travel even more difficult. Experts blame poor urban planning, uncoordinated metro and building construction, and the lack of systematic expansion of arterial roads.

Urban planning specialists warn that the traffic crisis is likely to worsen in the coming years. Citizens argue that even the proposed 100-feet roads won’t solve the problem if vehicle volume continues to rise. Many believe that Hyderabad may soon have to adopt Delhi’s odd-even vehicle rule to manage traffic density.

Residents and commuters are urging authorities to clear road encroachments, widen major routes, and construct additional flyovers. Others suggest that encouraging work-from-home policies for IT employees in Cyberabad could offer temporary relief from this daily chaos.
