During the operation, police seized ₹4.75 lakh worth of counterfeit ₹500 notes, along with four two-wheelers, one car, and nine mobile phones.According to officials, the prime accused, Kasturi Ramesh Babu from Vikarabad district, had been producing fake notes with the help of his sister using a scanner, laptop, and Photoshop software. Investigations revealed that the gang circulated counterfeit currency in the market at a 1:4 ratio with genuine notes.

Police said Ramesh used Instagram to approach customers and sell the counterfeit currency. Through him, others involved in the chain system—Waheed, Taha, Sohail, Fahad, Imran, Omar, and Altamash—further circulated the fake notes.

All the accused were arrested and produced before the court. The operation was carried out under the supervision of DCP South West Zone G. Chandramohan, with the support of Additional DCP Iqbal Siddiqui, ACP B. Kishan Kumar, Inspectors G. Santosh Kumar, Mallesham (CI), N. Rambabu, and SI Preeti Reddy.

The event was inaugurated by Maheshwaram DCP Sunitha Reddy, who paid rich tributes to the brave police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

She recalled the 1959 incident in Ladakh, where several police personnel were martyred while performing their duties. The DCP also remembered SI Saidiah, Constables Sai and others who lost their lives in the Yacharam Police Station blast, commending their courage and sacrifice.

She further stated that every year on October 21, the Police Martyrs’ Day, the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate visits the families of martyred officers to understand their living conditions and extend support. Referring to the recent incident in Nizamabad, where a constable was fatally attacked with a knife, she assured that the government and police department stand firmly with the bereaved family.

Highlighting the importance of community service, DCP Sunitha Reddy said that organizing blood donation camps is part of their mission to help the needy and those in critical condition. She urged women, youth, and students to stay safe, avoid drugs and intoxicating substances, and contribute positively to society.

DCP Reddy congratulated all the participants who voluntarily donated blood during the event.
The program was attended by Ibrahimpatnam ACP KPV Raju, CIs Mahender Reddy, Ravi Kumar, Nandeeshwar Reddy, SI Madhu, and other police officials.
